As you have most likely already guessed, in this post I am going to be discussing youthful beauty, which, by the way, has nothing to do with a particular range of skin care products that go by the same name. Instead, I am going to be talking about some of the things we can do in order to achieve and maintain youthful beauty in ways which are both safe and natural.
So many people seem to be under the impression that it is only things like lines and wrinkles that can rob you of your youthful looks. In reality, there are several things that can do the exact same thing, including things such as dry skin, oily skin, and an uneven skin tone. Things like acne and even very large pores can also rob you of your youthful beauty.
Fortunately, all of the above mentioned issues can be dealt with and overcome with relative ease, providing that you adopt the right sort of approach. Let us take a brief look at 3 things you can do to keep your skin looking youthful and radiant.
1. My Face is Uneven – Home Remedies for Uneven Skin Tone
Skin tone and youthful beauty go hand in hand. The internet is literally awash with home remedies for people who want to improve skin tone without having to pay for expensive cosmetic procedures such as chemical peels and laser treatments. Of course, the biggest problem with online home remedies is the fact that there are just so many of them to sift through. Some work, but many do not, and some are even downright scary.
If you have uneven skin tone you will need to address the problem if you want your skin to look its best. To even out skin tone you need to focus on lightening those areas/patches of skin which are darker than the skin that surrounds them. In other words, rather than trying to darken light skin, we need to try and lighten dark skin. In this respect, you can simply ignore any and all home remedies that don’t contain at least one type of natural skin bleaching ingredient.

It All Begins With Exfoliation
I am going to share some really good home remedies with you that you can use to treat uneven skin tone, but before I do, I just want to touch on the topic of exfoliation. Regular exfoliation is an absolute must. There are a number of benefits to be had from exfoliating your face and/or other problem areas on your body two or three times a week. These include:
- Regular exfoliation can reduce the size of your pores.
- If you suffer from acne, regular exfoliation can reduce the appearance of acne scars.
- Regular exfoliation can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
- Exfoliation on a regular basis can lighten dark areas of skin, and even fade things like sun spots.
- Exfoliation makes it easier for your skin to absorb skin care products such as serums and moisturizers.
I personally very rarely use store bought exfoliating products simply because it is so easy to make your own. My personal favorite is a honey and sugar exfoliator. To make this, I mix some raw honey and some very fine sugar together to form a paste which I then use to exfoliate my face. After I have finished with the actual exfoliating process, I then leave it on for a few minutes before rinsing my face clean with some lukewarm water.
Not only is this a wonderfully effective exfoliator, but the honey also hydrates, moisturizes, and nourishes your skin. Anyway, I do not want to get carried away with the topic of exfoliating, so here are some homemade remedies which you can use to even out skin tone:
Papaya and Lemon Juice
Papaya is rich in vitamin-A, and vitamin-A is seriously good for your skin. However, this is meant to be about uneven skin tone, so let us take a look at something else which is also present in papaya, and I do not mean its plentiful vitamin-C either. Instead, I am referring to a substance called papain.
Papain is extracted from raw papaya fruit, and in a concentrated form, it is pretty potent stuff. It is used in certain pharmaceuticals, as well as in the food industry. It is also used in the cosmetics industry where it is often added to skin lightening and skin whitening products.
If you have ever used powdered meat tenderizer, then you have already had some experience with papain. Papain is essentially a type of enzyme that can break down proteins. Because of this, it is a natural exfoliator. However, applying and/or using concentrated papain on your skin is not advisable because it can cause serious irritation and blistering.
As a papaya fruit ripens, its papain content reduces, so if you want to use papaya to get rid of uneven skin tone, I would recommend that you only use the flesh of fully ripe papaya fruits. Simply mash some of the fruit up in a bowl, add two or three teaspoons of fresh milk and a teaspoon or two of freshly squeezed lemon or lime juice.
Apply the mixture to the area you want to treat, and then leave it on for about 10 to 15 minutes before rinsing everything off with some lukewarm water. You can also rub the inside of the papaya peels on your skin to help remove dead skin cells.
Fresh ripe papaya is an excellent natural exfoliator that can easily restore your skin’s youthful beauty, but to be on the safe side, I would recommend testing it on a small area of skin first just to make sure that it does not cause any irritation.
Sugar and Olive Oil
Granulated table sugar is a very effective exfoliator, although some people feel that it is too abrasive. If you are concerned about the abrasiveness and/or coarseness of granulated sugar, you could use a finer type of sugar in its place. However, if you intend using this exfoliating scrub on areas such as your elbows, knees and/or heels, then I would definitely want to use granulated sugar.
To make this scrub, simply take about a ¼ cup of granulated sugar and then mix in some water and a few drops of olive oil. You want a paste that is not too dry, but also not too runny. Once you have made your paste, use it in the same way you would use any other sort of store bought scrub.
Turmeric and Lemon Juice
These days, “turmeric” is the new buzzword in health and beauty circles. However, in many Asian and Southeast Asian countries, turmeric is nothing new. It has been used as a spice for several centuries already. It has also been used medicinally for just as long. So, can turmeric help to even out skin tone and restore your youthful beauty?
According to the US National Library of Medicine website, a team of researchers reviewed and evaluated a collection of studies that related to the health benefits of turmeric when taken orally and/or when used topically. More than 10 of these studies found that there was a statistically significant improvement with various skin related problems when compared to the various control groups.
If uneven skin tone is your main concern, then here is a quick and easy home remedy which you really need to try:
Mix 2 tablespoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice with 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder. Apply the mixture evenly on the area/s you want to treat, and then leave it on for about 20 to 30 minutes. When the time is up, start rinsing it off with some lukewarm water.
I would recommend doing this about twice a week, preferably in the evenings shortly before going to bed. Just remember, turmeric is quite a potent dye, so you will want to keep your turmeric and lemon mixture away from your clothes and etc. Anyway, we have looked at uneven skin tone and three remedies you can try at home, so let us move on and take a look at some treatments that can help you to have younger looking skin.

2. Use the Correct Younger Looking Skin Treatments
Everlasting youthful beauty is something which so many of us long for, and even more so once we notice fine lines starting to appear on our faces. Anti-aging and anti-wrinkle creams and serums are among the most popular skin care products on the market. That tells me that there are a lot of people out there who are desperate to avoid, or to at least slow down the signs of aging.
Youthful beauty is not only about being free of lines and/or wrinkles. It is also about your skin having a lovely radiant glow, the sort of glow which is common among people who follow strict diet plans and exercise regimens. Eat a healthy and well balanced diet, and get plenty of physical exercise a few times each week, and you are almost guaranteed to have a radiant looking complexion.
Unfortunately, perfect diets and gym memberships are not always an option for many of us. Instead, we need to rely on other options such as cosmetic procedures, skin care products, and home remedies.
If fine lines and wrinkles are the source of your anguish, and you are determined to get rid of them as quickly and as effectively as possible, then it would be best for you to go and see a dermatologist or a cosmetic surgeon. There are a number of cosmetic procedures available, including:
- Cosmetic surgery
- Laser skin resurfacing treatments
- Chemical peels
- Microderm abrasion
- Filler injections
- Botox injections
All of the above treatments have their own unique pros and cons. The costs of these treatments also vary wildly, and some simply are not suitable for certain people. An experienced dermatologist or cosmetic surgeon will be able to explain what your options are, and even recommend which type is best for you.
If you are in a similar sort of situation to the one I am in, the above mentioned procedures are most likely not an option for you. They are certainly not an option for me so I have to rely on skin care products and various home remedies. If you have read some of my other posts, you will probably already know that I only use chemical-free skin care products.
I also do not jump from one brand to the next all the time. My advice has always been that you should find a brand you have confidence in, and then you should stick with that brand long enough to give it a chance. In my opinion, the three most important skin care products which I always have on hand are a gentle facial cleanser, a good quality hydrator and moisturizer, and of course, an all-natural anti-wrinkle serum.
I can assure you, if you use the three above mentioned skin care products, you can have younger looking skin, assuming you choose quality products that are free of chemicals. If this approach has worked for me, I am sure it can for you as well. And, if you can only have one of the above products, let it be a moisturizer.
Remember, it is going to be impossible to have younger looking skin if your skin is dry, and drinking a ton of water every day is not going to prevent or get rid of dry skin. According to Mayo Clinic website, there is no solid evidence to show that the water you drink ends up reaching your epidermis.

3. Youthful Beauty with Younger Looking Eyes
Even if most of the skin on your face is flawless, the areas around your eyes can make you look years older than you actually are. Things like dark circles and puffiness are the biggest culprits, but they are both relatively easy to treat. In many cases, you can get rid of dark circles simply by getting a bit more sleep.
If you are going to use skin care products on the skin around your eyes, be sure to use ones which are free of chemicals. Keep in mind that even the very best skin care products take time to work. In the meantime, while you are waiting to see the desired effects, try these few time-tested makeup hacks:
-
Apply a Primer
– Primers typically come in the form of a cream, and they are designed to help fill/disguise any fine lines you might have around your eyes. If you also have dark circles, you should ideally look for a tinted primer that matches your normal skin color.
-
Apply a Concealer
– Any all-natural concealer will do, but if you have dark circles, then your concealer should preferably be about two shades lighter than your foundation/primer. You can also use a concealer without using a primer first. Use your ring finger or a small makeup brush to apply the concealer and to smudge it around to the point where it hides the dark circles.
-
Finish with Eyeliner
– You would be amazed at just how much of a difference some eyeliners can make when it comes to giving your eyes a younger look. The secret here is to only apply very thin lines directly above your upper eyelashes, starting from the center of your eyelids, and ending at the outer corners.
If you do not have dark circles but you have fine lines or sagging skin, you can still use the above mentioned makeup hacks to great effect. However, using a good facial mask beforehand can bring about even better results. For example, mix some raw honey and some fresh milk together; apply it to the area around your eyes, leave it on for about 20 minutes, and then rinse it off with lukewarm water.
The honey will cleanse and moisturize your skin, while the lactose acid in the milk will help to plump up the skin, which in turn helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and sagging skin.
